Like any other country, India too issues and requires Police Clearance Certificate for its residents staying in here from abroad. The PCC is documented as a pre-requisite for the stay of an immigrant wanting to stay here for more than 6 months. The way PCC for other countries are sent to the concerned embassy by Indian ministry, in the same way India’s embassy receives PCC and other legal documents from foreigners. The detailed and perfectly filled up application form is cross verified by India. The PCC is required so that India can be sure that the person about to stay here is free of any criminal cases or whatsoever. The information is maintained by the NCRB and Indian Police Force. Along with other documents, PCC and Visa copy, the applicant even needs to provide the stamped copy of the first exit and last entry date on the visa.
